Artemisia filifolia Sand Sagebrush
Although it is called Sand Sagebrush, this sagebrush will grow in sandy or dry clay soil. It softens hot, dry, windy conditions with it’s delicate form. The leaves are linear and a soft gray-blue color. The flowers and seeds are inconspicuous but the billowy action adds movement to the garden and sets it apart from other dry land shrubs. A perfect plant combined with drought tolerant plants like Little Blue Stem, Palmer Penstemon and Paperflower. Pruning back to one foot tall in early spring will keep in lush and maintain the desired height.
