Soft gray feathery leaves are the decorative feature of Artemisia frigida | Fringe Sagebrush. The flowers are very tiny and are held on stalks above the cushioned, low growing plant. A timely pruning in summer to remove the seed stalks will keep the plant orderly. Like other Artemisia, Fringe Sage will spread by seeds if left unchecked, however, it isn’t considered invasive. It can be used successfully with drought tolerant grasses and wildflowers in a xeriscape garden.
