Chrysothamnus nauseous ss. nauseous | Dwarf Blue Chamisa blooms earlier in the summer and the blooms are brighter yellow than tall rabbitbrush. It has a compact rounded form and the leaves are more delicate than tall rabbitbrush. Use as a front row shrub in the xeriscape garden because it’s bright yellow blooms and gray leaves complement any perennial wildflower. Even though the seeds are attractive, it is recommended to trim them off before they can spread. A gentle trim in spring will maintain the soft appearance. Butterflies and native bees visit regularly for the pollen Chamisa generously provides.
