Shepherdia rotundifolia | Roundleaf Buffaloberry is without a doubt one of the most notable plants of the Colorado Plateau. It tumbles down hillsides, cascading over cliffs and ledges, brightening the high desert landscape. The flowers and seeds are not noticeable, but the silver, rounded leaves that are shiny on top and fuzzy underneath are beyond description in beauty.  Roundleaf Buffaloberry needs well drained soil,  part sun, low water, and no fertilizer or organic mulch.  It sounds too easy, but this plant will test the ability of the gardener to really follow xeriscape guide lines.
