Juniperus virginiana | Virginia Juniper is a fast growing evergreen tree used for windbreaks and shelter belts. When it is mature, it has a majestic open form with big pendulous branches. The needles turn a distinctive bronze color in wintertime showing off  bright blue berries that are relished by birds. It can be grown in its natural form or it can be hedged to create a formal appearance.  It’s requires a little more water than Rocky Mountain Juniper, has a more open form, but it is used extensively by rural homeowners for windbreaks.
